In 2007, De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek an independent business law firm, announced to move it's new head-office to the Zuidas business district of Amsterdam. The office building,today known as The Rock, is designed by Erick van Egeraat and is one of the most expressive buildings in this emerging business area.
The complexity of the building together with the exceptional interior materials made this building the perfect base for a photographic journey.
For more than two years I analized the growing process of a structure in order to create autonomous narrative images.
These images tell stories about the continuous changes that slowly lead towards the actual design of the architect. By focussing mainly on materials and unfinished locations, I explored the space between material and architectural concept.
